Dingdong Avanzado hopeful for full recovery after birthday at home
Dingdong Avanzado was able to celebrate his birthday at home after requesting to be discharged temporarily from the hospital, where he continues to receive treatment.
On Instagram, the singer shared a video of himself spending time with their pet dog, explaining why he wanted to leave the hospital, even if only for a while.
“Despite not yet being completely well, I didn’t want to spend my birthday in the hospital so I requested that I be allowed to go home and just return to the hospital to have my antibiotics administered via IV,” he wrote in the caption.
He added that their pet was one of the biggest reasons he wanted to be home.
“This little fellow here is the reason why I wanted to be at home,” he said. “Such a sweet Tato Boy. Thank you for all the love and care you show us.”
Dingdong also thanked everyone who greeted him on his birthday and offered prayers for his recovery.
“To everyone who reached out and greeted me on my birthday and wished me a speedy recovery, I am deeply grateful for your thoughtfulness and genuine concern as well as your prayers,” he said. “I am still far from being 100 percent but by God’s grace, I know I will get there in due time.”
Earlier, Dingdong's wife, Jessa Zaragoza, revealed he had been facing health challenges and had been in and out of the hospital since June. She said he underwent surgery and was admitted again afterward, prompting her to postpone several work commitments to care for him.
Jessa did not disclose the reason for Dingdong's hospitalization, but she thanked his medical team, including his cardiologist, urologist, and infectious disease specialists.
Dingdong and Jessa have been married since 2001. They recently celebrated their 25th anniversary.
They have one daughter, Jayda.
