Mav Gonzales shares hospital bill after giving birth
Mav Gonzales gave a glimpse into the cost of giving birth in 2026, sharing that her final hospital bill reached nearly P700,000.
On social media, the Kapuso journalist broke down her expenses at Makati Medical Center, detailing the costs incurred for her delivery, hospital stay, and her baby’s care.
According to Mav, the birthing suite cost P1,580 per hour for 24 hours, while the heated tub cost P15,800, bringing the total for the birthing suite to P53,720.
Meanwhile, her normal delivery, including epidural, medical supplies, and medicines, amounted to P115,163.26.
Mav shared she also underwent a blood transfusion after losing “a lot of blood,” which cost P40,315.
For her hospital stay, she listed the suite at P21,800 per day for two days, or P43,600.
Meanwhile, her baby’s hospital bills totaled P30,284.
The professional fees made up a significant portion of the expenses. Mav listed her pediatrician’s fee at P58,478, the anesthesiologist’s fee at P128,306, and her OB-GYN’s fee at P258,294.
All in all, her total bill came to P728,160.26.
But then she received P29,000 in PhilHealth benefits for herself and another P5,119.50 for her baby, bringing her final bill down to P694,040.76.
“Starting a GoFundMe now,” Mav wrote in the caption with a laughing emoji.
Mav and Matthew Valeña tied the knot in 2025 and announced that they are expecting their first child two months after.
In May, Mav gave birth to their daughter, Maya.
