Mackenyu has been cast as Mash Burnedead!

The "One Piece" actor shared the first look of his character in the upcoming live-action film “Mashle: Magic and Muscles,” showing off the signature gold eyes, black hood, and lightning bolt on his face.

The character was also introduced in the official teaser trailer as “the man who will change the world of magic using only muscle.” Mash was then shown lifting a heavy barbell at full speed.

“Mashle: Magic and Muscles” is set in a magical world where people are defined by their magical powers and skills. Mash has no magic, but is out to prove to his adoptive father that he can be an excellent magic student or a Divine Visionary at the Easton Magic Academy.

Mash Burnedead is the latest character in the Japanese actor's live-action repertoire.

Mackenyu famously plays the role of Roronoa Zoro in Netflix's live-action series of "One Piece," based on the legendary manga by Eiichiro Oda.

He is also known for his roles in “Rurouni Kenshin: The Final” (2021), “Fullmetal Alchemist: The Revenge of Scar” (2022), and “Knights of the Zodiac” (2023).

Mackenyu was last in the Philippines in August for the "P1ECE of Yu: Mackenyu Fan Meet” at the Theater at Solaire in Paranaque City.

He also had a fan meet in 2023 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
