The 38th Manila International Book Fair: More space, more exhibitors, more books!

With increasing attendance in the last few years, the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) has decided to up another ante this year’s edition.

Happening from Sept 13-17 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay, the MIBF will occupy 11,980 square meters of exhibit space spread out into two floors.

“We’ve seen a tremendous rise in attendance in recent book fairs, and have now expanded the exhibit space to make room for more books and book-related events, to pack this year’s MIBF with even more experiences,” said Irene Lloren, president of MIBF organizer Primetrade Asia, Inc.

Wither over 100 exhibitors, and about 150,000 visitors over the annual five-day run, the MIBF remains the country’s biggest and longest running book event.

Apart from book shopping, MIBF has a slew of events lined up everyone: there are meet-and-greets with authors, book signings, special contests, and more.

The National Conference on Technology in Education will take place at the MIBF from Sept. 12-14, gathering educators the government, and the private sector to drive conversations about modernized trends in the Philippine education sector. — LA, GMA News
