6 buildings with splashy new art that make BGC more Instagram worthy
Aside from being home to corporate giants, beautiful architecture, the newest spots to eat, awesome nightlife, Bonifacio Global City also hosts some of the most impressive pieces of street art — murals, if you may — anybody can find in Metro Manila.
Since hosting the first public art festival in 2015, BGC has featured works from local and international artists including LA-based American-duo Cyrcle (the astronaut floating on its side), Portueguese artist Corleone (the splashes of red on the C1 building facing the parking lot), and our very own Egg Fiasco (that cool-looking deer).
For the weekend's BGC Arts Center Festival, the neighborhood has commissioned artists from the world over to create a new set of murals on nine building surfaces. It was a year-long production and was timed for them to be finished right for the Arts Center Festival.
These pieces of art are actually already visible, ushering the festival that has the theme “Champions of Passion: Soulful Feats of Art”.
Among the creators participating in this venture are PINTO artists Solana Perez, John Paul Antido, Biskeg Pangasinan Art Collective, Jerson Samson, Janica Rina and Miles Villanueva.
The 9th mural is a collaboration of artists from South Korea and ASEAN countries supported by the Korean Cultural Center. It was done with an acknowledgement from Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation who has been consistently promoting "the creative slant of BGC's soul."
The BGC Arts Center festival will run from November 24 to 26.
