Kelsey Merritt is the newest rookie of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2019
Kelsey Merritt does it again!
After becoming the first Filipina Victoria’s Secret angel, Kelsey has become the newest rookie of the much anticipated Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition 2019. The fantastic news was announced by Kelsey over weekend, as the magazine welcomed her into the fold.
On Instagram, she wrote, “I’ve been keeping this a secret for a while, and now I’m so excited I get to finally share with you all that I’m the newest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2019 Rookie!!!”
On Monday morning, she shared a super hot sneak peek of her shoot. “Can’t wait for the issue to come out in May!” Kelsey exclaimed.
This is the first time the Swimsuit edition will be released in May; previously it would hit the newsstands every February.
Meanwhile, Sports Illustrated shared a few more images and videos from Kelsey’s shoot in the Bahamas, revealing one layout done inside a cave.

“During her SI Swimsuit casting call last October, Kelsey was all smiles as she told us what modeling for the magazine would mean to her,” writes Xandria James on the Sports Illustrated website.
“I really want to be a Sports Illustrated model because I love how confident the models are and I want to show everyone who is looking at these pictures and reading the magazine that they can also be confident in their own skin,” Kelsey said.
