Pia Wurtzbach’s Madame Tussauds wax figure has been unveiled

Pia Wurtzbach’s Madame Tussaud’s wax figure was unveiled to the press on Thursday at EDSA Shangri-La in Ortigas.

The Miss Universe 2015 queen is the first Filipino to be honored with a wax figure.

The beauty queen-actor posed side by side with her wax figure, dolled-up in a replica of her now iconic, Swarovski-embellished royal blue ball gown by Michael Cinco — the garb she wore when she passed on her crown.

Her passing on the crown in 2016 is the chosen “Pia moment” immortalized in the wax figure.

According to Pia, she wanted people to “experience what it’s like to strike your most confidently beautiful pose and receive the crown yourselves!”

Cinco who also designed the gown for the wax figure said, “Dressing up her wax figure and to represent our country are already an honor and a great experience in my career. It’s an impalable dream come true.”

Another historic fact about Pia’s wax figure? It it’s the first to be flown to its home country before being situated in its permanent location.

Pia’s wax figure will be available for viewing in Manila on March 29, Friday at SM Mega Fashion Hall before it makes its way to Hong Kong where it will be permanently displayed.

Pia’s figure will join the world’s biggest icons including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Yeoh, Bruce Lee, Taylor Swift and Jackie Chan. — LA, GMA News
