Michael V. says 'Family History' was based on real stories of real people

Kapuso comedy genius Michael V. revealed that his film "Family History" was inspired by true stories of real life people.

In his latest vlog, Bitoy addressed a question asking if the film was based on a true story.

"I couldn't say that this is my life story, hindi naman talaga. But I would say this,
isa siyang true story," he said.

"Not the whole film of course, pero 'yung certain parts ng pelikula ay mga istoryang nangyari talaga sa mga kakilala ko, sa mga kakilala ng writers namin, mga kaibigan, mga magulang, kamaganak, at kung ano ano pa," he added.

Bitoy is the first to admit that his film's theme and elements are nothing new.

"'Pag hinimay mo siya, 'yung mga elemento niya hindi naman bago eh. 'Yung mga characters niya I'm pretty sure nakita niyo na may kagaya sa ibang pelikula," he said.

However, he believes that there is something special in the way the different stories, elements, and characters come together to create something new.

"Ang mahalaga dito sa 'Family History' is kung paano mo pinagsama-sama 'yung elemento na 'yun to come up with something new," he said.

"Para pagsama-samahin 'yung mga kwento na yun, yung mga elemeto na yun, at ang mga artista na 'to sa iisang proyekto, that's what makes 'Family History' very special," he added.

"Family History" is Michael V.'s directorial debut. He also wrote, produced, and acted in the film.

Along with Michael V. and Dawn Zulueta, Bianca Umali, Miguel Tanfelix, Paolo Contis, Ina Feleo and John Estrada will also be starring in the film.

"Family History" is set to hit theaters nationwide on July 24.
