Most Filipino employees love the Christmas season, because of the many good things that await them during this time of the year, from their 13th month pay and Christmas bonus to a few days of special non-working holidays. Of course, there is also the annual office Christmas party.

A Filipino office Christmas party is an entertaining event, where employees can let loose and have fun with their officemates and bosses. While office Christmas parties here in the Philippine differ from office to office, there are some elements that they share in common. Here are some things you can usually see at a Filipino office Christmas party:

Performances

Employees get to showoff their hidden talents to their bosses and co-workers, thanks to the mandatory performances during the annual Christmas party. They sing and dance, or do comedy skits to impress their officemates and maybe win an award for best performance.

Parlor Games

Employees let out their competitive sides once the parlor game portion of the Christmas party program begins. They do their best to win, even if they are just playing Trip to Jerusalem or Pinoy Henyo, to get a price ?usually in the form of loot bags or cash. They also never forget to cheer and laugh with their officemates who are playing the games.

Monito-monita, the Filipino version of Secret Santa, is an exciting and, at the same time, terrifying part of the Christmas party. When employees draw a name in the fish bowl, days before the party, they would usually wish that they won’t pick their most hated co-worker or their boss, so that they would not have a hard time buying presents for the exchange gift.

Raffle Draws

One of the most anticipated parts of any Filipino office Christmas party is the raffle draw. Whether the grand prize is money, or a new appliance, you can be sure that almost all employees are hoping for their names to be picked.

Before an office Christmas Party ends, employers usually present their employees simple gifts to thank them for their hard work and dedication. These gifts typically come in the form of a gift bag that contains groceries and some ingredients they could use to cook Noche Buena dishes.
