Award-winning local toy artist Quiccs to design products for sportswear brand
Sportswear brand Adidas Philippines on Monday announced its collaboration with Filipino toy designer and visual artist Quiccs, who is known for his signature toy TEQ63.
Quiccs bagged the Artist of the Year and Toy of the Year awards at the Designer Toy Awards in New York City for the past two years.
Adidas Philippines said Quiccs "is known for his art style that represents rebellious Japanese robot anime shows, graffiti art, and hip-hop culture."
“It’s a dream come true for me to finally partner with Adidas after all these years of dreaming of collaborating with the brand," he said. "I’m looking forward to creating designs with Adidas, as this project will stand as a testament of how we can create our own paths from simple daydreams."
Quiccs is a member of the art collective Pilipinas Street Plan and is a partner and creative director of Burnwater Design Studios Co.
Quiccs-designed products will be released this year but customers can get a hold of the limited edition NanoTEQ Quiccs Superstar "through the launch of new colorways of the iconic Superstar shoe."
Superstar with NanoTEQ by Quiccs will be available in select Adidas stores starting February 13.
