‘Anastasia’ is coming to Netflix this June

The well-loved animated film “Anastasia” is coming to Netflix on June 1!

Produced by 20th Century Fox, the 1997 musical drama was featured on Netflix’s “coming soon” list.

Known for the hit songs “At the Beginning” and “Once Upon a December,” the film follows Anya, who grew up in an orphanage and had no idea that she’s actually Anastasia, the long-lost daughter of the last czar of Russia.

The film is inspired by the real story of the Romanov family, the last imperial dynasty to rule Russia. Anastasia was rumored to be the only family member to survive after the family was murdered during a revolution.

Directed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman, “Anastasia” was voiced by stars such as Meg Ryan and John Cusack. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
