All 10 tracks on BTS Suga’s ‘D-2’ album top Billboard world songs chart
BTS member Suga continues his winning streak as all 10 songs on his new mixtape “D-2” debut on the top spots of Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart.
“Suga now controls positions one through 10, a feat rarely seen on any Billboard chart,” said a report by Forbes on Wednesday. The album’s lead single “Daechwita” tops the chart.
D-2 also debuted at No. 1 on the World Albums chart, No. 2 on Top Album Sales, No. 9 on Top Rap Albums, and No. 11 on Billboard 200.
Daechwita for its part debuted at No. 76 on Hot 100 and No. 1 on Rap Song Sales, while Agust D, Suga’s rapper alter-ego, was No. 4 on Artist 100.
These rankings make Suga the highest charting South Korean soloist and the first to place on both Hot 100 and Billboard 200 simultaneously.
As Agust D, Suga dropped D-2 and the music video for Daechwita on May 22.
The album was released as a free download and via streaming apps only. This makes its chart wins more impressive, considering the album did not have physical versions.
To date, D-2 is still topping several iTunes charts worldwide, while the video for Daechwita has 68 million views on YouTube less than two weeks after its release. – RC, GMA News
