Blackpink unveils official Twitter account

With the release of their comeback single “How You Like That,” Blackpink launches the group’s official Twitter account. 

On Friday, the Twitter account @BLACKPINK posted its first tweet, which received over 600,000 likes and was retweeted more than 250,000 times.

Less than a day after its launch, the account garnered over 600,000 followers.

Blackpink’s official fan club account @ygofficialblink, meanwhile, continues to be available.

“It is expected that active communication with global fans will continue through the opening of [the @BLACKPINK] official account,” said Twitter in a statement.

Tweets related to “BLACKPINK” reached 5M for 12 hours, and the hashtag #HowYouLikeThat trended No. 1 in more than 50 countries. 

As a special treat for the group’s fans or Blinks, Twitter unveiled custom emojis especially drawn by Blackpink’s 4 members, which could be activated by hashtagging their names.

The special emojis will appear on tweets using the hashtags from June 26 to Aug. 31 KST.

The group continues to reach impressive numbers as the music video for “How You Like That” hits close to 70 million YouTube views in less than a day.

Blackpink, composed of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa, is set to release their first full-length album in September. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
