Upcoming anime show 'Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy' releases trailer

In case you don't know, we're getting an anime-inspired Transformers origin story and it's dropping this July.

"Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy - Siege" just dropped its official trailer and we see Optimus Prime facing off against Megatron.

The Netflix original series will show the "never before told stories" of the Autobots and Decepticons as they attempt to end the civil war.

It is produced by Rooster Teeth with animation from Polygon Pitcures.

Transformers veteran FJ DeSanto ("Transformers: Titans Return," "Transformers: Power of the Primes") serves as showrunner with several contributing writers, including George Krstic ("Megas XLR"), Gavin Hignight ("Transformers: Cyberverse"), and Brandon Easton ("Agent Carter," "Transformers: Rescue Bots").

"Transformers has a rich history of great storytelling and War for Cybertron is an exciting new chapter in the Transformers Universe," said Tom Warner, Senior Vice President for the Transformers franchise for Hasbro.

"Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy - Siege" is premiering on July 30 on Netflix.
