AC Bonifacio wins 2nd place in Blackpink’s ‘How You Like That’ dance cover contest


Filipina dancer Andree Camille “AC” Bonifacio has won 2nd place in Blackpink’s “How You Like That” dance cover contest.

Blackpink announced on Instagram Tuesday the winners selected from performers and dance groups all over the world.

A total of three videos were chosen as winners and two more teams were given a special award.

“We would like to thank everyone for your dedicated interest and participation. With gratitude, we have selected 2 extra teams for the Special Award, in addition to the original 3 winning teams,” Blackpink wrote on the caption of their post.

The South Korean girl group congratulated the five winners and everyone who joined the contest.

AC went all out on her solo performance video and production, which she shot clad in outfits imitating Blackpink members Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose.

Her video has garnered over 3.6 million views on YouTube as of this writing.

Meanwhile, “Congrats AC” is trending on local Twitter as netizens congratulate the Filipina dancer for her win.

Among all the winners, AC’s entry was the only solo performance.

On her Instagram account, AC expressed her happiness over the news.

“IDK what to do the whole team and I are together crying idk what to do wait wait what,” AC wrote on her Instagram Stories sharing Blacpink’s post featuring her win.

“We won 2nd di po namin alam what to do I love you all thank so much bp idk what to do im shaking thank you po everyone,” she wrote on another IG Story post.

The grand prize was given to Premium Dance Studio Yemin Boss, which featured two girls aged 9 and 10.

B-Wild Official of Vietnam, meanwhile, took home the 3rd prize.

Blackpink’s comeback single “How You Like That” broke several records after its release in June.

The K-Pop group earlier announced the release of their first full album on Oct. 2.

Last week, they teased a new single featuring a mystery artist in August.

AC is a dancer, singer, and actress first recognized as a part of a duo that won a Filipino TV dance competition in 2016. Her partner was Lucky Ancheta and their duo was called “Lucky Aces.”
