BTS drops ‘Dynamite’ music video BTS
BTS has shared the behind the scenes from their latest music video “Dynamite.”
On the clip posted Wednesday on the group’s YouTube account, the members described their characters on the music video and shared funny moments while filming.
Jung Kook said his character was a high school student jamming to music in his room, while RM was a college guy checking out items at a record store.
The rest of the members—Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and V—showed their playful sides and busted some spectacular freestyles during each of their segments.
As seen on the clip, the music video was shot in a studio designed into different sets: a teenager’s bedroom complete with posters of pop music icons, a record store, a donut shop, a basketball court, a disco place, and various outdoor locations that give off a laidback, summer feel.
The well-designed set complemented the stylish outfits and the overall cheerful and retro vibe of the song.
According to the members, it took them 4 days to shoot the music video, and they had fun doing so since it’s been months since they last filmed one.
“Our last song before this was ‘On,’ it was somewhat serious so this time, I think it’s good we came up with a bright song,” said Jin.
BTS released their first English single “Dynamite” on Aug. 21 with an accompanying music video.
In just 5 days, the video received more than 207 million views and 15 million likes.
It set new all-time records for the biggest first 24-hour YouTube views at 101.1 million and music video premiere at over 3 million peak concurrents.
Three days later, the South Korean group dropped a second, blooper-filled “B-side” version of the music video.
Apart from the original track, BTS also released “Dynamite” in acoustic, EDM, and instrumental versions.
The song has since topped iTunes in more than 100 countries, hit No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top 50 Chart, and is seen as a strong contender for a No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the group’s first, if ever.
BTS is set to debut “Dynamite” at their first-ever MTV Video Music Awards performance. VMAs airs in the Philippines Aug. 31 8 a.m. – GMA News
