Arnel Pineda, ONE OK ROCK's Taka team up to sing Journey's 'Open Arms'

Journey frontman Arnel Pineda and ONE OK ROCK's Taka Moriuchi joined forces to rock to the iconic song "Open Arms."

Arnel posted their virtual jamming session on his YouTube channel.

In the description section of the video, Arnel said they decided to do it "to honor the legacy of Journey's Escape album."

Taka also shared the video link to his Instagram followers, and thanked Arnel for the invitation.

"Thank you Arnel for inviting me to do this cover with you, it was a awesome experience!" he wrote.

According to Bandwagon, Japanese band ONE OK ROCK was originally scheduled for an Asia tour this year but it was cancelled due to the pandemic.

"Open Arms" is a track from Journey's album "Escape" and has been sung by several international artists including Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, and Celine Dion.

Last May, Arnel and his band Journey welcomed three new members as they performed their hit song "Don't Stop Believin'" for a UNICEF event on Saturday.

Lead guitarist Neal Schon announced the return of former "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, who previously served as the band's bassist. —Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/JCB, GMA News
