Fil-Am actor Jon Jon Briones, Sarah Paulson thank fans for supporting 'Ratched' on Netflix
Filipino-American actor Jon Jon Briones and Sarah Paulson thanked viewers for their support as their psychological thriller "Ratched" made a huge debut on Netflix.
The series rose to Top 1 in the United States and also cracked the top 10 in several countries, such as Spain and Ireland, since its release on September 18.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Briones shared a selfie with Paulson, who plays Nurse Mildred Ratched, the main character.
"This is us looking happy, grateful and impressed by your support of @ratchednetflix," he said. "You're all awesome!"
"Ratched," inspired by the iconic character from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," tells the origin story of Mildred as she arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where dark secrets begin to unravel.
Briones plays Dr. Richard Hanover, the facility's mysterious head who conducts controversial experiments on patients in his care.
"Ratched" also stars Cynthia Nixon, Judy Davis, Sharon Stone, Finn Wittrock, Charlie Carver, Alice Englert, Amanda Plummer as Louise, Corey Stoll, and Sophie Okonedo.
The creator, Ryan Murphy, who also made "American Horror Story" and "Hollywood," also expressed his gratitude to the viewers.
"When Lady Sarah Paulson and I got the news this morning we were speechless. So many of you get and love our beloved Mildred and we are just so grateful for your support!" he said.
