Cebu teacher wows netizens with sweet rendition of 'The Sound of Music' song
A teacher brought good vibes online after sharing her version of the "Do-Re-Mi" song from the film "The Sound of Music."
According to Ian Cruz' report on "24 Oras," Teacher Jeryline Aves is a music teacher at a private school in Cebu City.
She began singing at four years old and eventually joined a chorale when she was in college.
"I was encouraged by my mama [and] my auntie to perform in intermission and school programs," she said.
"My experiences in singing and chorale groups and contests and workshops helped me to become who I am," she added.
Aves said she did not expect that she would get the opportunity to teach music, as she studied Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Special Education.
She also said that adjusting to online learning is a difficult for her and her students as they sometimes experience poor internet connection.
"It's hard for children interrupting the class, telling me, 'Miss you are lagging, it's glitching, we can't hear the sounds,'" she said.
Nonetheless, she is trying her best to engage her students as best as she can by sharing her talent.
We may be stuck at home due to the coronavirus, but listening to her sweet voice took us right into that grassy hill from the iconic movie. —MGP, GMA News
