Motorbike with sidecar carries TV, other learning materials for Aeta students in Pampanga

Teachers in Porac, Pampanga have found a creative a way to help them deliver learning materials to their Aeta students in the new normal.

According to Mariz Umali's report on "24 Oras," the teachers fashioned a motorbike with a sidecar to carry a television set and other instructional materials.

Called "Sulong-dunong sa Colong-colong Para sa Edukasyon," the motorbike stops in each barrio with Aeta students to serve as a learning center.

They decided to take the television to the barrios as the signal is too weak to access DepEd TV and there is no internet connection.

While it seems like a face-to-face setup, the school said that only 10 students are allowed to attend each session, which lasts only 10 minutes per subject.

Social distancing is also followed and students have to wear masks and undergo temperature checks. Teachers have to wear personal protective equipment.

Meanwhile, teachers in Cagayan translated the modules into the Aeta language to help the students cope with distance learning.

Dapat may pagmamahal," she added. —MGP, GMA News
