Netflix drops teaser for 'The Prom' starring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Corden
The trailer for Ryan Murphy’s new Netflix musical “The Prom” is finally here!
The two-minute teaser gives us a first look at the jaw-dropping musical numbers performed by a star-studded cast, including that of three-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep, Tony Award-winner James Corden and Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman.
The trailer also sets the tone of the story, which follows New York City stage stars Dee Dee Allen (Streep) and Barry Glickman (Corden) with a crisis on their hands: their expensive new Broadway show is a major flop that has suddenly flatlined their careers.
“The Prom” directed by “Ratched” creator Ryan Murphy is the film adaptation of the Tony-nominated Broadway musical of the same name.
The film also stars Jo Ellen Pellman, Keegan-Michael Key, Kerry Washington, Ariana DeBose, Andrew Rannells, Tracey Ullman, Kevin Chamberlin, Mary Kay Place, Nico Greetham Logan Riley, Nathaniel J. Potvin and Sofia Deler.
“The Prom” premieres on Netflix this December 11. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
