Andre Paras shares 5 problems only tall people will understand

People can complain all they want about being short, but there are just some problems only tall people will understand.

Just ask Andre Paras, who—like his PBA legend father, Benjie Paras, and his superstar brother, Kobe Paras—stands over six feet tall.

The basketball star-turned-Kapuso heartthrob talked about his daily struggles and hilarious stories as a tall person during an interview with GMA News Online.

1. Shoes are hard to find.

You know what else people say about men with big feet? It can be really hard to shop for shoes. Just ask somebody who wears a men’s size 12 and above in the Philippines.

“I can’t find shoes here because my feet are too big,” Andre said.

2. Nothing fits.

POV: You find the perfect pair of pants that’s exactly the color and style you want ... but they can barely cover your ankles.

“It’s hard to find clothes that have the perfect fit,” Andre said. “That’s why you see people my height wearing loose clothes, it’s because they just, you know, would rather just wear loose clothes. (Sometimes) they’re not the perfect length. Kahit it’s an XL, it’s a different kind of XL.”

3. Car legroom

Height might give you an advantage in basketball or pogi points when you help someone get something off the top shelf, but not when hitching a ride in another person’s car.

Andre, for example, prefers being the driver than the passenger. “I’d rather drive, because the legroom is very difficult. I know I can take it for a few minutes but, if I stay in a position for more than an hour, I’m gonna have leg problems. It’s gonna hurt.”

4. You can’t hide.

Andre can (literally) stand out in a crowd, whether he likes it or not.

“I can’t hide from friends or someone if I were to lie to them because they can spot me that fast,” he shares. “If I tell them I’m at home, I’m sure they can see me from a far distance if I’m at the mall, just because of my height. Yeah, I can’t hide with this height.”

5. Can’t “be a kid” anymore.

Andre admits he would sometimes get jealous of his little brothers because they can still jump into ball pits and play at jamborees, where he apparently can’t enter anymore.

“Pretty much, I can’t be a kid anymore, or there are things I can’t do ’cause they just don’t allow me because I’m ‘too big,’” he said.

In any case, his staggering height and his ability to stand out from a crowd are only some of the many reasons why fans love Andre so much.

The Kapuso hunk is the son of PBA legend Benjie Paras and the older brother of Kobe Paras, who is currently leading the young Gilas pool for the 2021 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers.

With his handsome looks and incredible sense of humor, Andre has been bringing joy to many Kapuso viewers in shows like “Love You Two,” “Descendants of the Sun,” and “Sunday PinaSaya.”

The talented young actor, host and athlete is now set to star in the upcoming teleserye “Heartful Café” with Julie Anne San Jose coming next year, along with David Licauco, Zonia Mejia, Jamir Zabarte, and many more. – RC, GMA News
