‘Wonder Woman 3’ is in the works

“Wonder Woman” starring Gal Gadot is expected to get a third movie!

According to Variety, Warner Bros. confirmed this as the second movie “Wonder Woman 1984” had a highly-successful premiere over HBO Max and worldwide theaters over the Christmas weekend.

“As fans around the world continue to embrace Diana Prince, driving the strong opening weekend performance of ‘Wonder Woman 1984,’ we are excited to be able to continue her story with our real life Wonder Women — Gal and Patty — who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy,” Warner Bros. chief Toby Emmerich was quoted as saying.

"Wonder Woman 1984" pulled in $36.1 million at worldwide theaters over the Christmas holiday weekend and boosted streaming viewership on HBO Max.

The DC superhero film was considered the biggest domestic opening since the COVID pandemic shuttered theaters in March, though the numbers were a fraction of usual receipts for a big-budget action flick

According to Variety, Gadot is expected to return to star as the title heroine in third film, and so is “Wonder Woman 1984” writer and director Patty Jenkins.

The third “Wonder Woman” movie is also expected to have a traditional theatrical release.
