Blackpink’s Jennie launches own YouTube channel on her birthday


Blackpink member Jennie isn’t just giving the world killer performances. Apart from being a renowned fashion icon and performer, she’s now sharing with us a glimpse of her daily life.

On her birthday on Saturday, the K-Pop idol unveiled her very own YouTube channel.

“I finally got to open my YouTube channel! Celebrating my birthday, I was thinking what I should do and I decided to turn on my camera to share my daily life and exciting things with you guys,” she said in a video titled “Hello World, From Jennie.”

She also shared a cover of Mandy Moore’s “When Will My Life Begin?” accompanied by numerous clips showing what she did on a regular basis.

“Thank you to my BLINKS for wishing me the best birthday I’ve ever had and I hope to see you guys soon,” she said.

Within just six hours after releasing her first YouTube video, Jennie’s channel gained over 407,000 subscribers and 166,000 views.

Blackpink, the record-breaking South Korean girl band known for their hit songs “Lovesick Girls” and “Kill This Love,” is composed of members Jennie, Lisa, Rose, and Jisoo.

In 2018, Jennie became the first Blackpink member to release solo music with her debut track “Solo.” The song’s music video has hit over 600 million views, making Jennie the first Korean solo female artist to reach the achievement. – RC, GMA News
