Timothée Chalamet brings to life Edward Scissorhands' son Edgar in Super Bowl commercial
Remember Tim Burton’s 1990 classic “Edward Scissorhands"?
Well, now we know what it would be like if he had a son. And said son was brought to life by none other thatn Timothée Chalamet for a Super Bowl commercial for Cadillac.
“Stranger Things” star Winona Ryder, who had played Edward’s love interest, Kim, also reprised her role as Edgar’s mom.
The story takes place in a peaceful suburb where young Edgar has a miserable day at school and work due to the scissor-hands he seemed to have inherited from his father.
The mom notices this, and decides to surprise his teenage son with a hi-tech electric car that allows him to drive without using his hands.
Edward Scissorhands was originally played by Johnny Depp.
The 1990 film directed by Tim Burton is about a lonely man-made human being with a gentle soul and scissors for hands.
Chalamet, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in the coming-of-age drama “Call Me By Your Name” (2017), is one of Hollywood's up-and-coming young actors.
The 25-year-old is currently filming "Don't Look Up" alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. He also stars in Wes Anderson’s “The French Dispatch” and Denis Villeneuve’s highly-anticipated film adaptation of “Dune” expected to come out later this year. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
