Blackpink’s ‘Boombayah’ becomes 1st K-Pop debut music video to reach 1.1B views

Blackpink is unstoppable!

Last week, the South Korean girl group’s “Boombayah” music video reached over 1.1 billion views, making it the first and the only K-Pop debut to reach such a feat, according to a Soompi report.

“Boombayah,” Blackpink’s first music video, was released in August 2016. Blackpink is so far the only Korean artist with three music videos surpassing 1.1 billion views—“Boombayah,” “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” and “Kill This Love.”

As of writing, “Boombayah” has over 1,106,133,000 views.

The record-breaking group, which was named the “world’s biggest music act” by a Bloomberg ranking, is composed of Lisa, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo.
