'Game of Thrones' actress Bella Ramsey to star as Ellie in 'The Last of Us' series adaptation


The television adaptation of "The Last of Us" has found its two main cast members!

Bella Ramsey, known for her role as Lyanna Mormont in "Game of Thrones," is playing 14-year-old orphan Ellie in the upcoming series, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Ramsey confirmed the news in an Instagram post.

 

 

 

And according to Variety, HBO has also cast Pedro Pascal as Joel.

Neil Druckmann, a co-creator of the series, confirmed this information on Twitter.

"Aaaaand there’s the other half. Stoked to have Pedro aboard our show!" he wrote.

 

 

 

"Chernobyl" creator Craig Mazin is writing the script for HBO, while Kantemir Balagov ("Beanpole") will be directing the pilot.

"The Last of Us" is based on a 2013 action-adventure Playstation game of the same name.

Set in post-apocalyptic America, the story features Joel, a smuggler escorting teenage girl Ellie, and together they fight hostile cannibalistic creatures on a gruelling journey of survival. —JCB, GMA News
