Michael V. to critics bashing ’Voltes V: Legacy’: Don't act like you're not impressed

"Voltes V" kids from all over the world have incredibly high expectations for GMA-7’s live-action remake “Voltes V: Legacy," and that does not exclude long-time fanboy Michael V.

Bitoy, however, shared in a recent YouTube vlog how he had a lot of faith in the upcoming series.

The comedian also gave his two cents about certain “offensive” comments that seemed to belittle the efforts that went into the project.

“Doon sa mga nakapanood ng teaser ng 'Voltes V: Legacy,' huwag na kayo magpanggap na hindi kayo na-impress at hindi kayo na-excite," Michael V said.

"May iba kasi naggagaling-galingan, kung anu-ano ang sinasabi. 'Dapat ganito, dapat ganun.' Naka! Wag ako," he added.

Michael V, who is an avid fan of the iconic '70s series, said he felt at ease knowing the remake is headed by Direk Mark Reyes who, he says, is also a "geek."

"Well, hindi naman ako magpapanggap na hindi mataas ang expectations ko, pero kampante naman ako, syempre, kilala ko naman si Direk Mark Reyes," the comedian said.

"Geek talaga 'yan and matagal niya nang pangarap 'yan and I'm sure grabe yung pressure sa buong production kaya advice ko lang for all the people involved is to really enjoy the opportunity," he added.

“Voltes V: Legacy” recently revealed a stellar cast that includes Miguel Tanfelix as Steve Armstrong (Ken'ichi G?); Ysabel Ortega as Jamie Robinson (Megumi Oka); Radson Flores as Mark Gordon; Matt Lozano as Robert "Big Bert" Armstrong, and Raphael Landicho as Armstrong brother "Little Jon."

GMA Network has also unveiled the official trailer which delighted many “Voltes V” fans from different parts of the world, including Japan where the iconic animated series originated.

The live action series has been licensed by Japan's own Toei Company, Ltd. through its Philippine-licensor Telesuccess Productions, Inc. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
