Stephanie Poetri's song "I Love You 3000" was inspired by the iconic line from "Avengers: Endgame," but do you know how the 2019 acoustic hit actually came about?

One word: Instagram.

The Indonesian-American breakout artist, who virtually sat down for a quick virtual interview with GMA News Online, shared how her IG followers actually helped her write her breakout through a simple Q&A.

"What happened was actually I was supposed to go out with my friends and they all cancelled so I was just really bored at home," Stephanie said. "So I decided to do, like, a Q&A on Instagram and the Q&A was for people to send me a word or a phrase and I’ll make it into a song."

2019, as we all know, was also the year "Avengers: Endgame" came out so,  naturally, "I Love You 3000" was still on a lot of people's minds.

It was the heart-wrenching secret code between Tony Stark and his daughter, Morgan, before he saved the world one last time as Ironman.

"A lot of them (Q&A responses) were jokes," Stephanie said.

"Like, they would send mango or something like that but, because Avengers 'Endgame' came out, like, two weeks before that, a lot of people sent 'I love you 3000,'" she added.

And so, the song the 20-year-old singer-songwriter wrote "just for fun" became an international hit.

Not only did it win several awards and top music charts all over Asia, she even released a romantic remix version with Jackson Wang.

"I kinda just wrote it for fun. I didn't really expect anything of it," Stephanie said.

"But then I woke up [and] lots of people wanted me to finish the song, I put it up, and so I did that and a lot of people liked it! So it's super cool," she added.

Stephanie has since attracted a growing number of fans who love her relatable song-writing and fun-loving personality.

She will release her debut album "AM:PM" under 88Rising this March 12, along with a music video for her new single "Paranoia." —MGP, GMA News
