Did this 1997 Archie comic strip predict remote schooling in 2021?

It looks like it's not just The Simpsons that has a knack of predicting the future!

Archie Comics' official Facebook page just posted a comic strip they published in 1997 that depicted how it imagined remote schooling in 2021.

In the comic strip, Betty could be seen on the dining table with her parents when her mother warned her that school is about to start.

Betty, who seemed pretty chill, said, "Relax, mother! I still have all thirty seconds!"

Her father then blurted out his opinion on why it's much more convenient for kids to go to school.

"Kids today are so lucky they’re able to go to school in their own home. They never have to carry books to school… and they never have to worry about the weather," he said.

A poster, seemingly a rule for students, was also plastered on Betty's wall: “Video monitors must remain uncovered at all times."

The situation parallels what's happening today with students studying remotely from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The comic strip was titled, "Betty in High School 2021."

According to the Facebook post the comic strip was "originally published in Betty #46 Feb 1997."
