'My Hero Academia' manga is now reportedly at its final arc

Is the end near for yet another big manga?

"My Hero Academia" is entering its "final act" with its 306th chapter this week, according to Anime News Network.

The chapter was shown to have the title "The Final Act Begins" on the latest issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, sparking theories that it's on its final arc.

Kohei Horikoshi launched the manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014.

In an earlier interview, he said that he initially wanted to end the series at Volume 30 but said it will "be impossible."

The manga currently has 29 volumes.

The story follows the story of Midoriya Izuku, who was born "quirkless" (or lacking a superpower) in a world of superpowered beings, as he makes the difficult journey into becoming a hero.

The manga was adapted into an anime in 2016. Seasons 1 to 4 are currently streaming on Netflix, while the fifth season is set to premiere this year.

"My Hero Academia" approaches its supposed end just as "Attack on Titan" by Haijime Isayama is set to conclude on April.

Last year, long-running manga "One Piece" was also announced to enter its final arc.
