Here's a closer look at Samantha Bernardo's national costume for Miss Grand International

Samantha Bernardo is ready to slay the Miss Grand International 2020 National Costume competition as the "Goddess of Pearls."

On Instagram, designer Patrick Isorena posted photos of her costume, which he said was inspired by the national jewels of Palawan.

He gave a closer look at the headdress, back dress, and the full bodysuit.

The Filipino costume designer said the back dress is inspired by the Taklobo or Giant Pearl. It was handmade from yantok and embellished with white pearls and gemstones to represent the treasures of the sea.

Meanwhile, the bodysuit is covered with "fabric foam, stones, and pearls to symbolize purity, generosity, and loyalty of its wearer."

Patrick said these embellishments are "believed to attract wealth and luck as well as offer protection."

For the shoes, Patrick partnered with Jojo Bragais.

The national costume competition for Miss Grand International 2020 will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Samantha previously showed off her #GRANDnada Walk during the swimsuit competition on Saturday.

She made it to the 20 finalists for the "Best in Swimsuit" as one of the 10 candidates selected by netizens.
