‘The Masked Singer’ reveals shockingly familiar face behind ‘Bulldog’

The judges and audience of “The Masked Singer” Season 5 got a bigger shock than usual after unmasking the character known as the “Bulldog.”

(Warning: Spoiler ahead!)

At the end of the episode aired April 7, the singer behind the mask was revealed to be none other than Nick Cannon, who took a break from hosting the show after testing positive for COVID-19.

The “Bulldog” appeared as a wildcard contestant who was unmasked after performing New Edition’s “Candy Girl.”

After the big reveal, Cannon dedicated his performance to Niecy Nash, who took over his hosting duties in February.

For those who don’t know, “The Masked Singer” is a mystery singing competition where celebrities perform songs for judges who will try to guess who is behind the mask.

The panelists Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Robin Thicke were not able to give their final guesses for Bulldog’s identity before the unmasking, but said Cannon’s performances reminded them of Andy Samberg, Chris Tucker, Eddie Murphy, and Chris Rock. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
