'Bridgerton' officially renewed for Seasons 3 and 4

It’s official: We're getting "Bridgerton" Seasons 3 and 4!

The announcement was made by Lady Whistledown herself through the show’s official Twitter account which was also retweeted by Netflix.

“Esteemed members of the Ton, It seems we have a rather special announcement. Bridgerton shall return for seasons three and four,” the letter read.

“This author shall have to purchase more ink,” she added.

Executive producer Chris Van Dusen also made his own share of tease as he posts a photo of the “Bridgerton” set.

“Even MORE #Bridgerton love coming to this room soon! Renewed for Seasons 3 AND 4!” he wrote in the caption.

“I’ve poured every ounce of myself into creating this show and the way the world continues to embrace it continues to AMAZE ME,” he added.

The cast, including four new ones, will return to production this 2021 for Season 2. Regé-Jean Page, who played the beloved Duke of Hastings, unfortunately, will not be joining.

Where the first season focused on the burning romance between the Duke and Daphne Bridgerton, the new season will be focusing on the newfound love between Daphne's brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and the smart and headstrong Kate, who will be played by "Sex Education" actress Simone Ashley.

"Bridgerton," a period drama series set during the London Regency, became Netflix’s most popular new series with more than 82 million household viewers. —Franchesca Viernes/JCB, GMA News
