Kier Legaspi puts up community pantry in Marikina

Actor Kier Legaspi has organized his own community pantry in Marikina to extend help to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Cata Tibayan’s “24 Oras Weekend” report on Sunday, Kier put up the community pantry in Barangay Calumpang with the help of his wife.

“We always help others when we have time and this time, we had a community pantry because we wanted to help farmers and industries affected by the pandemic,” he said in Filipino.

Kier said that the event went well and that safety protocols were followed.

Motivated to offer aid to more people, he urged others to do whatever they can to help.

“Sa mga kababayan natin na may kakayanan sa buhay, sana magtulong-tulong tayo lahat dahil ‘pag ginawa po natin ‘yan, I am so sure na walang Pilipinong magugutom,” he said.

(For others who are doing well in life, I hope we can help each other because if we do that, I am so sure that no Filipino will starve.)

Last week, Gabbi Garcia also helped in setting up a community pantry in Parañaque City. — Franchesca Viernes/BM, GMA News
