Filipinos can stream the 69th Miss Universe coronation event live for free on this app


Filipinos can watch Philippine bet Rabiya Mateo take the 69th Miss Universe stage live in Florida from the Philippines through the iQiyi platform.

iQiyi International announced that it has partnered with the Miss Universe Organization, making them the exclusive video streaming platform in the Philippines.

According to a press release, the competition will air live on May 17 at 8 am, Philippine time.

Viewers can access iQiyi international through their website (iQ.com) or they can also download the app for free on Apple Store or Google Play Store.

iQiyi Philippines Country Manager Sherwin Dela Cruz said the development is "a key milestone in our journey to bring content that our viewers love to them through our platform."

"As the MUO’s official partner for the 69th Miss Universe Competition, Filipinos will be able to stream the pageant live for free on May 17 exclusively on our iQiyi International app and iQ.com," he added.

Another aspect of the partnership is an access to Miss Universe library content will also be available exclusively on the platform including "curated pageant highlights, backstage and offstage scenes, and glam cams will be accessible through a dedicated page on the iQiyi platform (web and app)."

iQiyiInternational is an on-demand video streaming service providing pan-Asian entertainment to international viewers.

The platform has premium drama series, movies, variety shows, and anime; with local languages and subtitles; powered by cutting-edge technology.

Rabiya is already in Florida, USA to prepare for the Miss Universe 2020 pageant which will be held on May 17 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
