Anya Taylor-Joy is a haunting wannabe singer in 'Last Night in Soho' trailer

After her award-winning performance in “The Queen's Gambit,” Anya Taylor-Joy returns to the psychological-thriller genre in “Last Night in Soho.”

The upcoming film directed by Edgar Wright follows a young girl (Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie) who travels back in time to the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer (Taylor-Joy).

The trailer features several haunting scenes, featuring Matt Smith, Terence Stamp, Diana Rigg, Rita Tushingham, Michael Ajao, and Synnøve Karlsen.

Before her hit Netflix miniseries “The Queen’s Gambit,” Anya Taylor-Joy captivated audiences in several thrillers, including M. Night Shyamalan’s “Split.”

Wright, on the other hand, is known for his films “Shaun of the Dead,” “Hot Fuzz,” cult classic “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” “The World’s End” and the Sony blockbuster “Baby Driver.”

“Last Night in Soho” is set to hit cinemas this October. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
