Alden Richards, Jasmine Curtis-Smith reach for one another in 'The World Between Us' teaser

Have you ever felt so close, yet be so far away from a person at the same time?

GMA Network's upcoming series "The World Between Us" just dropped its first-ever trailer, and it shows an intimate scene between Alden Richards and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

The two start to lean towards each other — as if to share a tender kiss — but the scene suddenly stops, and we hear Alden ask, "Abot kamay na kita, ganito na tayo kalapit sa isa't isa, pero ba't ganon? Ba't parang napakalaki ng hadlang sa pagtatagpo ng ating mga puso (We're already this close with one another, but why is it like this? Why does it seem like there's something huge that's keeping driving a wedge between our hearts)?"

What could be keeping these two lovers apart?
