Alessandra de Rossi makes her directorial debut in upcoming Netflix film 'My Amanda'

Alessandra de Rossi is making her directorial debut in the upcoming Netflix film "My Amanda."

The film, which stars Alessandra herself and Piolo Pascual, will premiere on the streaming platform on July 15.

Written by Alessandra and co-produced by Piolo, "My Amanda" revolves around long-time best friends TJ and Amanda, who go through the motions of their friendship while dealing with their own complicated relationships.

"This movie is about friendship, and how much I treasure connections that are sincere, overwhelming, and that have a very profound impact, at least for me,"  the actress said.

"There is no single or universal definition that could explain how much gratefulness a person experiences when another being gives you a chance to believe in yourself," she added.

Alessandra said the movie is special to her and that it is her gift to her friend Piolo and Spring Films, who produced her 2017 blockbuster film "Kita Kita."

"I'm thrilled to share with our audiences the feeling of being on the same journey with someone, in finding out what profound companionship can offer to the other and savor the love so sublimely expressed in this film," Piolo said about "My Amanda."

Featuring other actors such as Luz Valdez, KC Montero, and Helga Krapf, the film will be available globally on Netflix.
