'Black Panther 2' starts filming, Kevin Feige vows to make Chadwick Boseman proud

Production is officially underway for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige told Variety that they have begun production in Atlanta and that everyone from the original cast — sans the late Chadwick Boseman — is returning.

"It’s clearly very emotional without Chad," Feige was quoted as saying. "But everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans."

"We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud," he added.

Boseman died last August 29 after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

Although he was diagnosed in 2016 with Stage 3 colon cancer that gradually progressed to Stage 4, it didn’t stop him from joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Black Panther in the same year.

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is the sequel to the 2018 Marvel blockbuster "Black Panther."

It is set to premiere on July 8, 2022. —JCB, GMA News
