Ate Shawee, Sharon Cuneta’s impersonator, passes away at 45

Ate Shawee or Marvin Martinez in real life, Sharon Cuneta’s impersonator, has passed away. She was 45 years old.

In a phone interview with GMA News Online Monday, the comedienne’s niece Ronnica Rollyn de Jesus said Ate Shawee died at 1 p.m. today due to liver cirrhosis “with complications.”

“Bigla nalang siya nag-stop huminga,” Ronnica said.

According to Ronnica, Ate Shawee stayed for a week at Chinese General Hospital before she was discharged. However, she was brought back to the hospital on Saturday.

“Hindi na siya pinayagan lumabas ng ospital kasi pababa na nang pababa [blood pressure] niya tapos hindi na siya nakakakilala, ’di na nakakapagsalita,” she said.

“Ang sabi ng doctor, do’n nalang hintayin na bawian siya ng buhay kasi kailangan pirmahan ’yung death certificate and ’yung time of death,” she added.

Ate Shawee’s family is asking for financial help to shoulder her funeral expenses because they have a pending bill of over PHP60,000 at the hospital.

“Hindi po namin alam kung saan siya ibuburol—kung sa funeral parlor po or sa chapel po sa barangay,” Ronnica said.

For interested donors, you may send your donations to Ronnica Rollyn through her GCash account (09952397972) or to Justine D. Castro through BDO Unibank Inc. Savings (002470252578). – RC, GMA News
