Tom Daley finishes knitting his Olympic cardigan and gold medal pouch

After winning his first ever gold medal at the Olympics, Britain’s diving star Tom Daley is all about showcasing his other talent—knitting!

Daley, who trended online and captured hearts after he was seen knitting during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, showcased his finished products on Instagram: an Olympic cardigan and a cute dainty pouch for his gold medal.

The Olympic cardigan, made up of white material with the Olympics logo, Britain’s flag and the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic Team’s logo at the back, had the Japanese word of “Tokyo” embroidered at the front.

“When I got to Tokyo, I wanted to make something that would remind me of the Olympics to look back on in the future,” he wrote. “I designed a pattern for the colour work that would signify everything about these games!”

Aside from his Olympic cardigan, Daley also made a cute medal case for a gold medal, which he and his partner Matty Lee won during the men’s synchronized 10-meter platform event at the Olympics.

“Learning to knit and crochet has helped me so much through these Olympics and we won GOLD yesterday,” he said. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
