Idris Elba to voice Knuckles in 'Sonic the Hedgehog' sequel

Idris Elba has joined the cast of the live-action sequel of "Sonic the Hedgehog."

The "Thor" actor announced that he was voicing Knuckles the Echidna and gave a first look at the character design on Twitter.

The first "Sonic the Hedgehog" live action film was released in February 2020.

Based on the video game franchise published by Sega, the story follows Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) and his best friend Tom (James Marsden) as they defend the Earth from the evil genius Dr. Robotnic (Jim Carrey).

"Sonic the Hedgehog 2" is set to premiere on April 8th, 2022. —JCB, GMA News
