Ysabel Ortega graduates college with degree in political economy

Ysabel Ortega has finally graduated from college!

On Saturday, the "Voltes V" Legacy" star said she had just finished her bachelor's degree in political economy at University of Asia and the Pacific.

"For the past four years, I have poured my heart, my tears and my time into completing my bachelor’s degree and I can’t believe that I made it to the finish line," she wrote, sharing a photo of herself in a toga.

"For the past four years, I worked so hard to balance my career and my studies," she added.

Ysabel recalled the times she tried to stay awake during class with energy drinks and coffee or worked through nervous breakdowns when she had to leave exams early to make it to work on time and vice versa.

"People told me to just choose. Some told me to drop out and focus on my work, while others told me to quit showbiz and focus on my studies instead," she said.
“There were some who thought I wouldn’t be able to do both and there were times in where I was so close to believing them, but I didn’t want to give up on my dreams. Now, here I am with proof that if you put your heart into whatever you wish to achieve, you can make it happen."

Ysabel thanked her parents, block mates, friends and professors who helped her reach her dream. Although she wouldn't have a graduation march due to the pandemic, she was "still as grateful and as proud" of what she had accomplished.

"This is all for You. I may be closing this chapter of my life but boy am I excited for what’s next," she said. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
