‘Gameboys’ director Ivan Payawal says Season 2 has finished filming

Looks like fans can expect Season 2 of Filipino BL (boys’ love) series “Gameboys” really soon!

Director Ivan Payawal confirmed the news on the latest episode of “The Howie Severino Podcast.”

“We are already finished with Season 2. We already shot it,” he said in a mix of English and Filipino.

The teaser for the series’ second season was released in January, where Cairo (Elijah Canlas) and Gavreel (Kokoy de Santos) were seen enjoying their time together at home amid the pandemic.

In “Gameboys: The Movie,” which was released last month, the couple questioned the future of their relationship as a family member put their love to the test.

“Gameboys,” the first Filipino BL series, follows two livestream gamers who are rivals online but are a match in the game of love. The two find connection as they beat both digital and personal dilemmas. 

The release of Season 2 is yet to be announced. While waiting, all 13 episodes of its first season can be streamed on YouTube through The IdeaFirst Company’s channel. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
