This student bought her dream house at 19 years old. Here’s how she did it
Thousands of netizens were amazed by the hard work and dedication of a Filipino student, who was able to buy her dream house at 19 years old.
According to Katrina Son's report for "State of the Nation," Patricia Mae Tandas is a psychology major by day and call center agent by night.
She's also a dedicated vlogger, who sells baked mac and cookies on the side.
At first, Patricia only hustled so she can buy things she wanted, but later she realized she can invest in something greater.
"As time went by, I realized how I wasted so much money on things I don't really need," she told GMA News in Filipino.
"I thought, 'why not just spend it on something I know I can use in the long-run?"
And so, she decided to pour all her savings into a small house and lot in Cavite worth P750,000.
Patricia's father did not approve of her decision at first, but the teenager was able to convince him with a great plan: She would rent out the house until the payments are done.
Patricia's mom, on the other hand, was not surprised. She always knew her daughter liked to think one step ahead.
"When she was in high school, she would bring graham balls, sandwiches and marshmallows to sell to her classmates," Evelyn Tandas shared.
