'Spider-Man: No Way Home' trailer breaks 'Avengers: Endgame' viewership record

The teaser trailer for "Spider-Man: No Way Home" has set a new all-time record for viewership.

According to Deadline, the three-minute trailer racked up 355.5 million global views for the first 24 hours of its release, surpassing the record of 289 million previously set by "Avengers: Endgame."

Additionally, the jaw-dropping number is more than double that of the second trailer for "Spider-Man: Far From Home," which garnered 135 million views within 24 hours.

"Spider-Man: No Way Home," the third installment in the latest Spider-Man film franchise, released the highly-anticipated teaser last Tuesday, finally giving fans a hint of what's to come after the cliffhanger ending of the previous movie.

It was revealed that Peter Parker will tap fellow Avenger Stephen Strange a.k.a. Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help after his identity was bared to the public.

The teaser also showed the return of Alfred Molina, who is playing Doctor Octopus, the same iconic villain in the 2004 film "Spider-Man 2" starring Tobey Maguire.

"Spider-Man: No Way Home" is scheduled to premiere exclusively in theaters on December 17. —JCB, GMA News
