Fil-Am singer H.E.R. lands first acting role
H.E.R. is now ready to take over the big screen.
The Filipino-American singer has landed a role in Warner Bros' upcoming film "The Color Purple," Variety reported.
According to the report, she will be playing the character Squeak, a waitress and aspiring singer. It is set to be her acting debut.
The announcement of her participation in the film comes mere months after she won two Grammy Awards, namely Song of the Year for “I Can’t Breathe” and Best R&B Song for her contribution to Robert Glasper’s “Better Than I Imagined.”
She also won an Academy Award for her powerful song “Fight For You” from the Warner Bros. Pictures’ film Judas and the Black Messiah.
H.E.R. is also starring in her own special episode of Amazon’s Prime Day Show, featuring music from her latest album, "Back of My Mind." —JCB, GMA News
