New Mario film unveils Chris Pratt as lead; other cast members revealed

Chris Pratt is your new Mario!

The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star has been cast as the lead in Nintendo's upcoming "Mario" animated film.

Illumination unveiled the voices behind the well-loved characters on Friday.

Making up the rest of the main cast are Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Jack Black as Bowser.

"Mario" is a video game franchise produced by Nintendo. It has expanded to other forms of media such as comic books and television shows. Recently, it had been brought to life in the new Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan.

The film is set to hit theaters on December 21, 2022. —JCB, GMA News
