5 reasons to watch 'Money Heist Part 5: Volume 2,' according to its actors and creators
Warning: spoilers ahead for those who haven't watched the Part 5: Volume 1.
"Money Heist" is coming to a close this December with the release of the second volume of its Part 5.
The first part of the season finale once again left fans at the edge of their seats after Tokyo's (Úrsula Corberó) death.
Its trailer revealed a few exciting things including Professor's (Alvaro Morte) public appearance and his entry to the Bank of Spain.
If you just can't wait to see what's coming this December 3, Friday, here are a few exciting things you can expect from the final episodes.
1. It's 'Money Heist' but turned up ten times or more
According to fan favorites Tokyo (Ursula), whose character died in the previous season, and Denver (Jaime Lorente), it's your regular Money Heist but amplified ten times or more!
"I mean, filming on the fifth season of Money Heist has been a wild ride as always, we’re used to that... But it is true that you feel it in the air, you see it in the scripts as well, that this is the finale... So, for me, I get the feeling that it's like Money Heist, but turned up to 11, you know?" Ursula said in an interview.
Meanwhile, Jaime said it is "your regular Money Heist times ten."
"I think all the seeds that were planted in the previous seasons... I think they've all digi-grown in this one," he said.
"I think that relationships blow up, the action goes off, and I think the level of tension explodes as well," he added.
2. It'll be the most intense season ever
"There's something like... a bit of everything that we have in it... There's more blood than ever, more grit than ever, there's more hate than ever," Ursula said.
"But basically, yes, that's the main thing: I think that there's something that we all know is about to come to an end, and in terms of energy, there's a really strong engagement," she added.
Meanwhile, Alvaro (Professor) said it's full of "tension."
"You know, people won't be able to leave their seat, I think, because on the one hand you have a war breaking out in the bank, and on the other, you have a different war breaking out between the Professor and Sierra, you know?" he said.
"And these are two completely different kinds of wars, one is totally violent while the other is more of a war of strategy between the two of them," he added.
"And I think that part, all that tension it creates, in both settings, it's what this season is really charged with," Alvaro said.
Luka Peros, who plays Marseille, said, "there is more action... turbulent scenes... It really is a war and there's a great plot."
3. It's an emotional season
While there's a lot of blood, violence, and tension in the final show, Itziar Ituño, who plays Lisboa, said there will be a lot of "a lot of drama as well, all with a dash of humour, which is sort of the specialty of the Vancouver script writers— getting a bit of a laugh even out of the darkest moments."
Luka said the season is also "pretty emotional and... people are going to freak out."
"I think you can expect to see what you are used to with Money Heist; that essence, that mix of emotions and feelings with lots of action," he said. "I think it's a very emotional season, and there's some really tough stuff, but I think it's also a very adventurous season."
4. Things will get resolved
Pedro Alonso, who plays Berlin, said it is "a battle to end all battles."
"Something like that, because of the action—if we're talking genre—but also in matters of the heart," he said.
"I think there is a line there that runs through the whole saga, if we can call it that, through all the seasons, and makes it make sense," he added.
Pedro said the season will "suddenly a 'click,' and everything falls into place. "
"If it makes sense, and I believe it does, I think there is something very exciting and very, very, very powerful in the visual aspect," he said.
Hovik Keuchkerian who plays Bogota said, "As we were shooting the episodes, I'd say: 'But, how is this going to get resolved in one episode?'" he added.
"And it was resolved and closed. In fact, I think everything has been resolved very, very effectively."
5. It's going to leave with a bang
Meanwhile, its creators showrunner and executive producer Álex Pina and director and executive producer Jesús Colmenar said it's the show's time to end but it will leave with a bang.
"Well, we've made over 2,000 minutes of fiction with two heists. I think we've exhausted some of the characters' emotional arcs and their arcs of transformation," he said.
"We've told a lot and I think it's a good time to stop. It's a very climatic season and I think it's always better to leave sooner rather than later," he added.
Jesus, meanwhile, said, "We have many examples in international fiction of series that we think dragged on too long."
"And I think the smartest thing to do when a series is at the peak of its success, as Alex says, is to leave with a bang and make a season that is very special in many ways," he added.
"It is very different from all the previous seasons and we have put all our eggs in one basket to go out with a bang."
